Marcus Thompson
Founder & CEO

After relocating from the Midwest, Marcus has called Oregon home since 2012. His passion has always been in the empowerment of youth, incorporating this within his professional background in both the juvenile justice and child welfare system. Always going above and beyond, and a little against the grain, Marcus has strived to support youth in finding their purpose and inspiration for a happier future. With extensive experience in both direct service and management, Marcus brings his mission-centered approach to both youth, adults, and organizations.

Marcus established Thompson Consulting and Coaching and subsidiary, Bev’s Kids Youth Services, in August of 2021, with the purpose of providing organizational consultation and a youth mentoring and empowerment service. Inspired by his late mother, Beverly Thompson, a long time educator, who demonstrated a commitment and care for her family and community that can rarely be matched, Marcus hopes to continue her legacy of love and support. Marcus utilizes his keen skill of engagement to provide a relationship-based service, where listening and learning goes both ways.

TESTIMONIALS

"Since working with Marcus the biggest thing I’ve seen is that I look at things differently and with more wisdom. I now think of the things I can do and not be limited. He helped me realize my vision and what my goals are." - J, 20 years old

"You’re more than a friend!" -T, 12 years old

"Marcus, you will forever be a great mentor. You have helped me so much from maturing from a kid to a young adult." -D, 17 years old

"Working with Marcus is fun and not stressful." -R, 12 years old

"I have worked side by side with Marcus since 2012 and his ability to not only engage children and teens, but their adults as well is something that is truly remarkable. Not only is he trauma informed in his education and training but his personality and being takes "trauma informed approach" to another level. He has a rare ability to be present and consistent without being intimidating or superficial and teens seem especially receptive to these qualities." -Maria Randall: Multnomah County Probation
